ANDREA QUAM

Associate Professor, Graphic Design, Iowa State University

“While your studio classes look at how to design, this class will examine the why behind what we do as designers. This will specifically be examined in relation to imageability and media.

The ideas stemming from these terms will be supported by readings, in-class discussion, presentations and informal exercises. Because this class is based on discussion and class interaction, there will be an emphasis placed on respect and inclusion. We will strive to create a classroom atmosphere in which people are comfortable voicing their questions and different perspectives. Debate is welcomed, invited, and expected but always conducted in a respectful manner.”
